It has been a while since I updated this blog, as I have been hard at work finishing my final projects and exams for university this semester. However, I have also been hard at work on this project, and have made a lot of progress in its planning.
Since last updating this blog, I have added new pages. The About the Project page details my goals for the project more thoroughly. The Itinerary page lists the zoos I will be visiting, and will soon list the dates I will be at each zoo. The Video Blogs tab links to the YouTube channel where I will upload video blogs about each zoo. I have also created a Twitter for the project, the updates from which will be displayed on the side of the blog.
I have received funding for the road trip through two different academic departments (Arts & Sciences and New College). I am incredibly grateful for this and their monetary support will help me immensely in my travel.
I have created an official Independent Study contract for this project, and will be receiving 2 hours of academic credit for undergoing it.
For the next month I will be doing all of the logistical planning. So far I have created an itinerary, and will finalize it once I hear back from all the individual zoos. My steps right now are to figure out the basics of travel, including transportation and lodging.
Check back here for updates as I finalize all of the aspects of the Zoo Education Road Trip!
